Did You Know?

Did you know?

While living in London (I was lucky to live there for six years) I trained with a Master Goldsmith in Hatton Garden (the epic-centre of the jewellery trade in London).

There I learned everything about fine jewellery making - design conceptualisation, wax carving, casting, stone setting, finish and assembly which included everything from cleanup, filing, sanding, soldering, and polishing. I also learned about the hallmarking process which guarantees and indicates the precious metal content of each item of fine jewellery.

It’s taken me years to learn about fine jewellery making (and I’m still learning something new every day). Sometimes I think back to my first evening class in Hatton Garden and I genuinely can’t believe it has led me to where I am now…

With each piece of By Leahy that I make, I am so conscious that each item that leaves my bench either captures a very personal memory, is a tribute to a loved one (past or present), celebrates a poignant or joyful date, or marks a new chapter in someone’s life… your By Leahy is precious to you and I do my very best to ensure you are happy on the day you receive it and every day after that.

They are pieces that are made to be passed through generations. You are the first generation to capture your precious memories…

Thank you for choosing By Leahy,
Laoise x
