Over 70 years ago, before my Grandad and Granny married, my Grandad gifted Granny with a beautiful gold necklace. Shaped like an envelope, it opened to reveal a secret inner ‘slip’ with the engraved message 'I Love You'. 

In time, my Granny passed the necklace to my Mum and a few years ago my mum passed it to me. After passing through three generations this beautiful piece is filled with many irreplaceable memories.

Little did I know then that the story behind this necklace would help to create a whole new story in itself... starting with the handmade Signature Envelope Necklace.

Hello there...

I’m Laoise (pronounced Lee-sha), and I’m originally from Co. Clare, on the West Coast of Ireland. I now live in Galway with my husband and two beautiful children. It is here in Galway that everything is designed, handmade, and engraved, on my bench.

By Leahy was inspired by my Grandmother’s story-filled envelope necklace and is centred on creating fine jewellery that is designed to pass through your generations, capturing memories and creating connections along the way.

At the heart of By Leahy is the personalisation experience. Onto your choice of items from the collection, I capture your most precious moments in life, translating them into engraved memories for you to cherish every day.
